Robert Trujillo (Metallica) and Armand Sabal-Lecco co-produced JACO (The Film), and played on the soundtrack of the documentary about the life and musical times of Jaco Pastorius, the electric bassist and native Floridian, who changed the world’s understanding of the bass guitar, an instrument that until then had played a mostly supportive role. Jaco brought the bass guitar to the fore, and his time in Weather Report, took it into the harmonic stratosphere, and explored the outer limits of musical space.
