[FROM THE TOP]

iPHONE CONFIDENTIAL — Like most “events” today, there’s a lot of texting going on. So necessary, for most, is their personal device, and how wanting an influencer’s audience, that the mass communication starts before the event is over. (photograph by kathy laskowski) ANOTHER VIEW*

(((VIDEO))) TV COVERAGE — As always, there was much television coverage of Artemus 2, especially because it was a MANNED-MISSION, the first in more than 50 years on which a crew would orbit and see the DARK SIDE OF THE MOON. The first since Apollo 17 and the end of the Apollo program in 1972. (PBS/NBC)

(((VIDEO))) SEE IT LIKE A NATIVE — The Launch of Artemis 2, from ground zero, where State Road 50 meets US1, directly across the Indian River Lagoon the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), and Launch Pads 39A and 39B, SACRED GROUND, last stepping stones to the Moon. (video by dave.)

DAY OF MOURNING  — Before the launch, this mother dolphin pushed its dead baby in front of the crowd that had gathered to witness the historic launch.
it is a documented behavioral phenomenon where mother dolphins carry or present their dead calves for days. Often termed “epimeletic behavior” or post-mortem attentive behavior, it reflects extreme grief and maternal bonding, with mothers pushing or supporting the calf’s body at the surface.

ARE HAPPY DAYS HERE AGAIN? — Much like Apollo 11 was a brief distraction for a world at war, the social and celebratory gathering at the end of State Road 50, took attention, for at least a week, away from NATO, Greenland, a reflecting pool, a “grand” ballroom, ICE detention, shooting Americans in the street (Fifth Avenue?), The straits of Hormuz, Lebanon, Israel, Iran, and any thing Donald Trump fucks up. For the briefest of Selfie Generation moment, watching a Moon Launch, was reminiscent of the “old” days, before the Republican take over, when FLORIDA WAS HONESTLY GREAT.

ARTEMIS 2 (APRIL 1, 2026)
Fifty five years after Neil Armstrong stepped onto the Moon, four NASA astronauts and their Orion/Artemis 2 rocket were launched from pad 39B, and sent on their way to orbit the MOON, beyond the Dark Side, after having travelled farther away from Earth than any other human being, on any space mission before.
