Shady Meeting
Pursuing his suspicion that a Student Government committe tasked with seeking dean candidates, was meeting in secret to discuss its findings, Alligator reporter Robert McClure followed committee members, documenting their clandestine meetings. Receiving no comment from Student Government, McClure, with the support and financial backing of Alligator Campus Publications, sued UF and president Marston, arguing that the secret meetings were in violation of Florida’s Sunshine Law (?), that stated that such meeting must be open to the public, and its findings made available to the press.
