Smart Guns
Like any other Deep South American Bible College, the University of Florida has been home to its share of gun-loving students, and White Christian administrations whose support of the Second Amendment was unmistakeable.

An examination of how many deadly weapons were being concealed in University of Florida housing led Alligator reporter David Futch to freshman gun owner Dan Bahneman. The young student was more than happy to show off his AR-15 assault rifle, and took great pleasure in shooting it off in the woods, as you see the “On Campus Guns” story (above).
After the story was published (May 11, 1981), Bahneman was less than happy at the way Futch had portrayed him in the story, and he voiced his angry displeasure in his “Amateur Journalist” Letter To The Editor (below).
