1923 — The first year of the University of Florida’s “Gator Growl,” the student-run, Florida Field celebration that marks the culmination of every year’s Homecoming Week. The show is produced by UF’s Student Government (Florida Blue Key), and holds the distinction of being the world’s largest student-run pep rally.

Les Dudek, another Georgia neighbor and an Allman Brothers musical family member. He was the guitarist Gregg considered to fill his brother Duane’s empty spot in the band. Dudek played on much of the Brothers & Sisters rehearsal and writing sessions with Chuck Leavell, the pianist who got the job.
